People who live in the Arabian Desert are
known as the Bedouins. Bedouins are
nomadic which means they have no fixed
place to live. Some Bedouins move from
place to place all the time while the others
move seasonly, however in the 21st
Century some Bedouins have had to adapt
by settling into small villages. For those
Bedouins who live in the Arabian desert
full time shelter is mostly like a tent. The
tent must be light in weight so it is easy to
move when the Bedouins are traveling. The tent is
made from woven hair off sheeps and goats, the hair is usually black, which absorbs the deserts heat and
keeps the inside cool. The tent is split into a womens and a mens section using a curtain.
The womans side stores food and cooking equipment.

over 3, 000 years ago. But since the Romans opened sea routes for trading, the value
of livestock has declined. While they still deal with livestock as a source of food and to
in trade. The Bedouins have had to adapt to modern society and they now own
modern technology such as trucks to help transport tourists across the big desert.
Bedouins are generous and hosts for other Bedouins. They don't particularly
